Northern part of Fukui prefecture was once called Echizen and the area is known for Echizen Lacquerware which has the longest history of the traditional Lacquerware in Japan. The area has a reputation for producing high quality products with excellence in designs. Mitsuru makes the best use of skills developed in the region over the eras and offers beautiful wares in various shapes. One of the examples is the wooden holder made by bending a sheet of wood like Origami Art.
