The Float tea lantern by Todd MacAllen and Stephanie Forsythe of Molo Design, although simple in design, is carefully handcrafted by master glassblowers in the Czech Republic using the highest quality German borosilicate glass. It can be used to hold very hot beverages while keeping them warm with a small tea light candle.
The tea lantern is designed with a double layered glass wall which encloses a vacuum, creating a thermal space that insulates steaming hot, or icy cold liquids. The double wall maintains an ideal serving temperature, while still allowing the lantern to be easily held and poured, as if a wine bottle. Use for hot tea, cold tea, as a pitcher for lemonade, sangria, as a decanter for red wine…
The tea lantern comes complete with lid, filter, and tea candle holder. The tea lantern measures 13” in height, has a diameter of 3.75”, and holds up to 34 oz. The fritted tea lantern is identical to the clear tea lantern except it has been glazed with a borosilicate frit, which contains a luminous translucent finish. When the tea light candle is lit, the fritted tea lantern glows with a mysterious diffuse quality of light. The fritted glassware is a delight to both see and touch.
